scholarship8VIST also offers the tuition assistance scholarships to eligible students. The tuition assistance scholarship will be used to pay the portion of the student’s tuition and fees. There are three (3) kinds of tuition assistance scholarships described as follows:

A.   Veteran Service Scholarship (Depended on Service):

Virginia Institute of Science & Technology (VIST) is committed to supporting the veterans by offering affordable tuition to create more

qualified cybersecurity professionals to serve in the Northern Virginia area. Effective April 2024, VIST is introducing a Veteran Service Scholarship Program for all veterans throughout the United States. To qualify, the student must show that he is a U.S. Veteran who served the military at least 3 months. This scholarship make veterans ONLY to pay whatever their GI BILL eligible tuition granted without any addition cost.

B.   DMV Community Scholarship of $5,000.00 (12 courses):

Residents of Virginia, Maryland, and Washington DC (DMV) who are students at VIST/University will be eligible for the DMV Community Scholarship, valued at $5,000.00, applicable to the Master Program consisting of 12 courses/54 credits. Particularly:

-. $1,000 scholarship per term that will start from second term if a student takes only two (2) courses per term (must take six (6) terms to complete the program); OR

-. $1,666.67 scholarship per term that will start from second term if a student takes three (3) courses per term (must take four (4) terms to complete the program); OR

-. $2,500.00 scholarship per term that will start from second term if a student takes four (4) courses per term (must take three (3) terms to complete the program).

-. Must keep GPA 3.00 or above during studying at VIST. Otherwise, the scholarship will be terminated.

C.   American Priority Scholarship of $2,500.00 (12 courses):

American students who are not residents of the DMV area will be eligible for the American Priority Scholarship of $2,500.00 at VIST/VIST/University for the Master’s Program consisting of 12 courses/54 credits.

-. This scholarship, totaling $1,250.00 per term, will be exclusively available for the last two terms, aiming to facilitate the completion of the master’s program at VIST.

-. Must keep GPA 3.00 or above during studying at VIST. Otherwise, the scholarship will be terminated.
