Virginia Institute of Science & Technology (VIST), a private in-state institute, located in Tysons, Virginia, is a creative and dynamic higher educational postsecondary institution, dedicated to offering equal opportunity for higher education. VIST summons applications for part–time Adjunct Faculty positions to teach one or more prerequisite courses for a Master Degree of Science in Cyber Security & Information Assurance (MSCIA). Classes will be instructed during day and evening hours.

QUALIFICATIONS

Selected applicants must have a Ph.D. or Doctoral degree in the field of Computer Science, Computer Engineering,  Information Technology, Electronic Engineering, or Computer/IT related majors, Math/Physics and other Engineering Majors with Computer Minor or with Top Professional Certification, such as CISSP, etc.  to teach MSCIA courses. Teaching Experience in other accredited institute/college.

Proven verbal and written communication skills

Willingness and eager to participate in curriculum development and participate In departmental activities

RESPONSIBILITIES

Prepare and teach assigned courses at assigned class meetings, using pedagogically sound methods, based on course catalog description and approved course outline.

Instruct students in specialized and general areas of a broad field of specialization
Assists in preparation of course outlines, descriptions and lesson plans as required by
Vice President for Academic Affairs.

Prepares and grades tests work sheets and projects to evaluate students performance,

Maintains a class record and attendance book.

Assists students as faculty advisor in problems related to departmental offerings
Performs various administrative and clerical duties as assigned
