1.1            Academic Calendar for 2024-2025

VIST operates on a quarter system where each academic year is divided into four quarters: Fall, Winter, Spring, and Summer (Summer usually offer multiple sessions). Students may apply for acceptance into any one of these quarters:

Note: Both the Early Session and Late Session are intended for students arriving at the school either before or after the term start date by 30 days, or for students transferring from other schools with a 2-semester system to VIST (which operates on a quarter system).

1.2            Holidays

During the 2024-25 Academic Year, VIST will observe the following holidays, on which days there will be no classes and our administrative offices will be closed:

1. New Year’s Day (January 1st)
2. Martin Luther King Day (the third Monday in January)
3. Memorial Day (the last Monday in May)
4. Juneteenth Day (June 19th)
5. Independence Day (July 4th)
6. Labour Day (the first Monday in September)
7. Veterans Day (the second Tuesday in November)
8. Thanksgiving Day (the fourth Thursday in November)
9. Christmas Day (December 25th)
10. If the holiday falls on a weekend, Monday will make up for it.

Conversely, the institute does not observe the following holidays, on which classes are held:

Presidents Day (the third Monday in February)
Columbus Day (the second Monday in October)
