Advisory Committee of Accreditation and Institutional Assessment (ACAIA)
Committee members consist of proven senior executives and SME faculty at VIST, and external experts who are experts and veterans of accreditation and assessment from in prestigious Universities or other well-known international Universities, as well as representatives from students. They are committed to helping VIST maintain a standard of excellence in education and successfully achieve the accreditation certification.
The Committee oversees the academic quality for degree and non-degree programs at VIST, including supervising, monitoring, evaluating, and improving all academic programs at VIST. This committee is under the supervision and direction of the President and reports to both President and the VIST Board of Directors & Trustees, to assure that all programs meet the requirements of SCHEV, Accreditation Organization, and US Department of Education, as well as with the needs of the community of students. It also reviews and approves all applications for VIST degrees.
Key Functions:
The Committee oversees the academic quality for degree and non-degree programs at VIST.
The committee reviews and approves curriculums for each course and ensure requirements are met.
This committee provide advisory guidance and recommendations to the Institute to ensure that all programs meet the requirements of SCHEV.
The Committee considers and recommends the addition or removal of academic programs, departments, and colleges to be approved by the BOD.
Term:
Each member will serve for three years except student members (one year term) and can be renewed for additional terms.

She is national and international recognized educator with more than 20 years experience as Chair of Accreditation Committee at Erikson Institute. Barbara T. Bowman Professor, Senior Academic Advisor, and former Senior VP for Academic Affairs and Dean of Faculty, Erikson Institute.
Dr. Doris Sartor, Ed.D. in Education Leadership, SES/Senior Director and Commander in the US AirForce Institute.
Dr. Jim Chen. Ph.D. in Computer Science, Professor and Director of Computer Science at George Mason Institute (GMU), editor-in-chief (EIC) of AIP/IEEE Computing in Science & Engineering (CiSE). Oversea Vice President of Southwestern Jiaotong Institute.
Dr. Harry Wechsler, Ph.D. in Computer Science, Professor and Director for the Distributed and Intelligent Computation Center at George Mason Institute (GMU). Dr, Wechsler is IEEE Fellow and IAPR Fellow.
Dr. Zhijun Zhang, Ph.D. in Electronic Engineering, CCIE, CISSP, CCSP, PMP, Chief Scientist of Cybersecurity, World Bank, Washington, DC.
