Application Deadline and Term Start Date

Applications are accepted year-round, and new students can be admitted for every academic term at the Institute. Applicants are advised to allow sufficient time for the Institute to complete its admissions evaluation process if the applicants desire to begin their studies at the Institute in a specific academic term.

Virginia Institute of Science & Technology (VIST) is using the quarter system (hereafter, term, semester, and quarter are the same at VIST, please don’t be confused).

VIST adopts the rolling admission policy and accepts applications each quarter. However, applicants should submit their application and required documents no later than a week before the first class starts.  

Below are upcoming terms start dates:

Summer Early Session 2024 – June 6^th, 2024

Summer 2024 – July 10^th, 2025

Summer Later Session 2024 – August 1^th, 2024

Fall 2024-25 – October 10^th, 2025

Fall Later Session 2024-25 – November 1^th, 2025

Winter 2025 – April 10^th, 2025

Spring 2025 – April 10^th, 25
